The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The Nokia Optical Networks Business Unit is driving the DWDM and OTN technologies to build reliable, flexible, and large-scale optical networks with industry-leading data rates of up to 600G per carrier. Our state-of-the-art 1830 product line is deployed by over 1000 service providers and web-scale enterprises globally in a wide range of applications including Data Center Interconnect, Metro, Long-Haul, and Submarine.


What you will learn and contribute to
  • Design and develop automation infrastructure and tool enhancements to maximize the effectiveness and productivity of NI Optics feature teams and test teams in their automated test development, execution, and analysis activities.
  • Infrastructure & Tool development activities may include:
    • Web-based database application development using technologies such as PhP, Javascript, Python, Turbogears & MySQL
    • Object Oriented library development using Python and Selenium to interface with the Optical equipment under test
    • Platform independent user interface development for launching and managing automated tests – JavaScript using Vue JS and Electron JS frameworks with Python backend
    • Multi-site server and DB management, looking for improved monitoring and management approaches
    • Big data application development and support, including using AI/ML, via Splunk Enterprise
    • Investigating Highly automated Cloud deployment opportunities for servers running automated tests – considering technologies such as AWS or VMware.
    • Introducing DevOps tools and techniques for automation infrastructure and tool development as well as for automated test development (e.g. Git, GitHub, etc).
  • Work within a multi-site Agile Test Automation team.
  • Provide support and training for the existing automation infrastructure and tests.
  • Establish and maintain any necessary servers for the test automation platform.


Your skills and experience


Academic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

Skills and Experience:

  • Software development expertise particularly in support of test automation.
  • Software development experience in Web and DB development
  • Python and Javascript expertise
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
